the process
Creating a new website can be exciting! Discover my process below so you know what to expect.
The first step to any project is the briefing. You tell me as much information as you can about your project and what you want to achieve with your website.
I will give you a planning checklist and a ‘shopping list’. You send me your logo, branding colours, fonts and all the images you want on your website. I use Trello for project management and will invite you to your own board where you can follow the updates in real-time and give your input. It’s a truly collaborative process.
Now I start designing something that perfectly represents your business. With all the right colours and your own ‘stamp’. I will design one page and let you decide if it needs any tweaks before I continue.
You will provide me with all the written content for the website, per page. I will help you with the checklist for this step, as there is sometimes ‘hidden content’ that you didn’t think of. For example, what happens after you’ve clicked a certain button or subscribed to your newsletter?
In the planning tool Trello, you will see a few ‘check’ milestones. Mark those in your calendar and take the time to thoroughly review the website. This way, we don’t have to do all that important checking in the last week. Forgot something after the website launch? Don’t worry! I am there to help with those last couple of tweaks that need fixing.
I will test your website on all the common browsers, mobiles, tablets etc. I will go through our pre-launch checklist and make sure your website is perfect before launching it to the world!
Before the launch, you will receive handy videos to take you through the content management system of your website. Would you like more help on a regular basis? With my aftercare and support service, I can be available to make those updates for you, if you just don’t have the time. I can also help with ongoing SEO campaigns and security updates, back-ups and monitoring.
